Richie
Williamson MP
MEMBER FOR CLARENCE
I accept that elections are about politicians; you are guaranteed to get one at the end of every election. Parliament is not about politicians; it’s about people, the good citizens of this fine State, and for me, the great people of the Richmond and Clarence valleys that make up the Clarence electorate.

ABOUT
Richie Williamson MP
Born in Grafton in 1973, Richie's community leadership began early as school captain at Coutts Crossing Primary. After completing his studies at what is now McAuley Catholic College in Grafton, he won a position as a broadcaster with Grafton's 2GF radio station. He was known as the morning “voice of the Clarence” for over 32 years.
He has had significant other wins during this period. The one he is the most proud of is marrying Leonie.
In 2005 he was elected to Clarence Valley Council and spent eight years as Mayor. Significant achievements on Council include successful deals with other levels of Government to deliver better local road, community and other infrastructure, as well as easing the squeeze on ratepayers.
Richie was later preselected by grassroots Nationals members in the Richmond and Clarence valleys to be their candidate at the March 2023 election - a contest he won by a huge margin.
