NSW Nationals State Member for Clarence Richie Williamson MP has invited members of the local community to come together for a vigil to pay their respects to the innocent victims of the tragic events at Bondi.
“As our nation continues to come to terms with the senseless act of violence we witnessed on Sunday, many people have asked how they can honour those who lost their lives and show support for the families affected,” Mr Williamson said.
“The Dean of Christ Church Cathedral in Grafton, the Very Reverend Naomi Cooke, has generously offered the area surrounding the newly installed Peace Pole within the Cathedral grounds as a place for quiet reflection and remembrance. Community members are welcome to lay flowers at the site at any time.
“In addition, Christ Church Cathedral will host an all-faiths commemoration service on Wednesday, 17 December at 6:30pm, providing an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come together in solidarity.
“This will be a time to reflect, to grieve, and to support one another as a community,” Mr Williamson said.
“I sincerely thank the churches and faith leaders who have worked together to make this vigil possible, and everyone who continues to show compassion, care, and unity during this deeply difficult time.”
All members of the community are warmly invited to attend the service.
