The iconic Casino Truck Show has received a $20,000 funding boost from the NSW Government's 2026-27 Regional Event Fund, with State Nationals MP for Clarence Richie Williamson announcing the successful grant at the Casino Truck Show Sponsors' Night on Thursday evening.
The funding, secured by Richmond Valley Council through Destination NSW's Regional Event Fund, will help support the delivery and promotion of one of Australia's premier trucking events, which returns to Casino this weekend.
Mr Williamson congratulated Richmond Valley Council on securing the funding and acknowledged the outstanding work of the Casino Truck Show Organising Committee in continuing to grow an event that attracts thousands of visitors to the Richmond Valley each year.
"The Casino Truck Show is much more than a celebration of Australia's transport industry. It's one of the biggest annual events in regional New South Wales and delivers a tremendous economic boost for local businesses, accommodation providers, cafes, restaurants and retailers," Mr Williamson said.
"This $20,000 funding contribution from the NSW Government will assist Richmond Valley Council and the organising committee in continuing to deliver an event that showcases Casino and the Richmond Valley to visitors from right across Australia."
Mr Williamson said the Casino Truck Show had become a major drawcard for the region, with this year's event already shaping up to be one of the biggest yet after all 550 truck entry positions were filled in less than an hour.
"That incredible response demonstrates just how highly regarded the Casino Truck Show has become within the trucking industry," he said.
"The Friday Night Lights, the spectacularDawson’s Haulage street parade on Saturday, live entertainment, family activities and the outstanding atmosphere throughout Casino make this an event that appeals to people of all ages, not just trucking enthusiasts."
Mr Williamson said he was looking forward to joining the community for this year's event and encouraged locals and visitors alike to get along and support what has become one of regional Australia's signature events.
"It was a pleasure to announce this funding at the Sponsors' Night last night and to acknowledge the tremendous support of the many sponsors, volunteers, businesses and community members whose dedication makes the Casino Truck Show possible each year," he said.
