FUNDING AVAILABLE TO UPGRADE COMMUNITY CROWN LAND RESERVES

Crown reserve managers across the Clarence and Richmond Valleys are being encouraged to apply for a share of up to $13.5 million in funding through the NSW Government's 2026–27 Crown Reserves Improvement Fund, with applications opening today.

State Nationals MP for Clarence Richie Williamson said the annual program provides valuable funding to improve and maintain important community assets located on Crown land.

"Many of our most valued community facilities are located on Crown reserves, including public halls, showgrounds, parks, sporting grounds and recreational areas," Mr Williamson said.

"These facilities play a vital role in bringing communities together, supporting local events, recreation, tourism and community wellbeing.

"I encourage eligible Crown land managers, councils, showground trusts, community organisations and reserve managers to have a look at the program and consider submitting an application."

Mr Williamson said the 2026–27 funding round includes two key streams.

"The general projects stream will support projects that deliver significant community benefit, with grants available from $50,000 up to $1 million," he said.

"There is also dedicated funding available to assist reserve managers meet their biosecurity obligations through pest and weed management projects, with grants of up to $200,000 available."

Mr Williamson said previous funding rounds had delivered significant improvements to community assets throughout the Clarence and Richmond Valleys.

"Over the years we have seen funding support important upgrades to local showgrounds, public halls, parks, reserves and community facilities right across our region," he said.

"These projects not only improve local infrastructure but help ensure these important community assets remain available for future generations to enjoy."

Applications close at 5pm on Friday, 24 July 2026.
