NEW BBQ TRAILER TO HELP ROTARY CLUB OF UPPER RICHMOND SERVE THE COMMUNITY

The Rotary Club of Upper Richmond will soon be better equipped to support local events and emergency response efforts thanks to a $19,990 grant from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program, announced by Clarence Nationals MP Richie Williamson.

The funding will allow the club to purchase a new BBQ trailer—making it easier and more efficient for members to transport and prepare food at community gatherings, fundraising events and in times of need.

Mr Williamson congratulated the Rotary Club of Upper Richmond on their successful application and commended their strong community spirit.

“The Rotary Club of Upper Richmond plays a vital role in bringing people together and supporting the local community, especially in times of crisis,” Mr Williamson said.

“This new BBQ trailer will make it easier for members to continue their great work and extend their reach right across the Richmond Valley.”

Club Secretary, Narelle Oomen, said the funding would make a big difference to the newly established club.

“We are so grateful to be receiving this grant for our new Club,” Ms Oomen said.

“Without the BBQ trailer, it was a matter of packing our boxes of utensils, barbecue, pots and pans into a couple of cars. It could take four or five people and ages to pack for an event.

“By having our equipment in one place, it will make it easier for us to transport our food and equipment in a timelier manner — and it can be done by just two people.

“Not only that, but we’ll be able to reach more people, more easily, to cater for events or emergencies in our area and the wider Richmond Valley community. There’s a greater possibility for us to be useful when there’s a need — and even to cater for private events at times.

“We thank Richie and the NSW Government — the help is very much appreciated.”

Mr Williamson said the grant was a great example of how the Community Building Partnership Program delivers real benefits for grassroots organisations.

“These grants help build stronger, safer and more connected communities — and I’m proud to support the Rotary Club of Upper Richmond in their efforts to do just that,” he said.
